New 'Godzilla' Movie Coming Next March

In an announcement made on Twitter, it was announced that the next film set in the Monsterverse, titled Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, will arrive in theaters on March 15, 2024. No information as to what the film is about was released, but it’s fair to assume that the film will pick up after 2020’s Godzilla VS. Kong, following the two Alpha Titans as they rule different parts of the Earth, with Godzilla in charge of the surface world, and King Kong ruling Hollow Earth. The previous film concluded with the two titans in their respective kingdoms after teaming up to take down MechaGodzilla.

The film’s release, tentatively scheduled for March 2024, will put it in a head-to-head box office battle with A Quiet Place: Day One (March 8), Snow White (March 22), and Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 (March 29). Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire is directed by Adam Wingard (Death Note, Godzilla VS. Kong) and stars Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Rachel House, and Alex Ferns.
