96th Oscars Given Date

In a release sent out earlier today, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the 96th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024. This gives the award show the same date range as the previous Oscar ceremony, which took place on March 12, 2023.

While it’s too early in the year to give true predictions toward the Oscar nominees and winners, films like Killers of the Flower Moon, Past Lives, and Maestro are expected to perform well during the next awards season. Earlier this year, Everything Everywhere All At Once was the biggest winner at the Oscars, taking home seven awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay. Awards pundits are predicting a more competitive season this year, with unlikely odds in favor of a single film sweeping the majority of categories, regardless of whether they’re technical awards or “above the line” awards.

Keep an eye out for our Oscars predictions, coming later this year.
